How To Add Email To Mac Mail App?

Apple Mail is the default email client for the Mac computers. You can add all the web-based emails, iMessage account, iCloud account, and other supported emails in the Mail app. If you wish to add your email in the Mac Mail app, follow the steps mentioned below.

Mac Mail App

  • On your Mac, click the Launchpad icon at the Dock and locate the Mail icon from the list of available programs.
  • Double-click on the Mail icon to launch the Mail app.
  • Once the Mail app opens, you will be prompted to choose your email service provider.
  • Select your email service provider from the displayed list or click the Other Mail Account option to manually configure the server settings.
  • Click Continue and configure the necessary email settings.
  • If you have configured an email account previously in the Mail app, you can add a new email account by clicking the Mail menu at the top-left corner of the screen.
  • Select the Add Account option from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose an account type and enter the necessary account details.
  • Make sure that you enable the Mail checkbox.
  • Alternatively, you can add an email account in the Mac Mail app by clicking the Apple menu available at the top-left corner of the screen.
  • Select the System Preferences option from the drop-down menu.
  • Click the Internet Accounts tab and select the type of account you wish to add in the Mail app.
  • To verify whether you could send or receive emails from the email account configured in the Mail app, compose a new email.
  • Click the New Message icon from the Mail toolbar.
  • In the New Message window, enter the recipient’s email address in the To field.
  • Enter the email subject in the required field.
  • If you wish to add an attachment, choose the file from your desktop and drag it into the body of the message.
  • Otherwise, click the File tab and choose Attach Files from the drop-down menu.
  • Select your desired document as an attachment and click the Choose button.
  • After verifying the necessary details, click the Send button to send the composed email.
