  • The first step to setup the HP printer is to unbox it as per the guided instructions. Take the new printer out of the box and place it on a table.
  • The second step is to remove the packing material from the inside and outside of the printer.
  • Carefully remove the packing material from the printer. You can find the packing materials in the top cover, ink cartridge access door and the trays.
  • Make sure to recycle the packing material and insert the battery. Open the battery cover and then insert it.
  • Connect the printer and set your preferences. Make sure to use the power cable that came in your printer package. Attach the power cord to the printer and turn it on.
  • Wait for the printer to remain idle & silent. Once the printer becomes idle, set your preferences.
  • In the preference section, you can set your preferred language & country. Use the arrows keys on the printer’s control panel to set your preferences.
  • Press the OK button after setting your preferences. Now, open the input tray, and load sufficient paper on it. Load plain, U.S. Letter or A4 paper into the input tray.
  • The maximum limit of the input tray is 50 sheets. Open the cartridge access door. Take the new cartridge out of the package. Remove the protective or plastic tape form it. Ensure not to touch the copper-colored contacts of the ink cartridge.
  • Place the ink cartridge into its respective slot. Press the top of ink cartridge until gets placed correctly. Once you installed the ink cartridge, the printer starts to print the alignment page.
  • To print the alignment page manually, follow the instructions and select How to Setup HP Printer from the printer’s home screen.
  • Select Tool and press the Align Printer option. Make sure to press the OK button whenever a selection made. Use the arrow keys to select the options. The printer hardware setup is done and now you can install the print driver form the manufacturer’s site.
