  • Chromecast is a device that lets you stream content, play videos, and music on your HDTV wirelessly. To start with, you need to unbox the Chromecast package. While unboxing, you’ll notice contents such as a Chromecast, start guide, USB adapter, Phone Data cable, and an extender.
  • Chromecast has an HDMI connector on one end and a USB connector on the other. The First step is to link the small end of Chromecast to the USB cable. Next, connect the other end to the TV’s HDMI port. If the devices don’t fit, use the extender to plug it in.
  • Powering up the Chromecast can be done in two different ways: Either plug the USB port on your TV or use the power adapter of the USB cable to an output. Use the remote control of the TV to change the input to HDMI port where the device is connected.
  • The Set me up message will pop up on TV’s display. To set up, go to “ Chromecast.com/setup” link on the phone’s web browser. The installation page will open in the App store to install the Chromecast app.
  • Open the app and click Accept to continue. The app will scan for Chromecast.
  • Choose the Set Up a New Chromecast option, and it will prompt you to go to phone Wi-Fi settings and select new Chromecast. Perform the steps as instructed on the screen and return to the app. Connect to the same accessory you see on the TV screen. The app will display a prompt stating found a new device, click Next to continue.
  • The code will appear on both the TV and the phone. Perform the instructions to complete the setup. After completing, the Ready to cast message will appear on the TV. The phone will remain cast as long as it is connected to the same home Wi-Fi network.
  • To start casting from your computer, you’ll need to use google chrome, and you can add the Chromecast extension. Once added, you’ll see the new Chromecast icon in the top right of the browser, that works just by clicking the Chromecast option to cast on your TV.
