Procedure to Set Up HP Photosmart Wireless Printer

  • Before setting up a wireless network connection on your Photosmart printer, you need to set up a router network connection and then gather the network SSID and WPA security passphrase or WEP key. For a flawless internet connection, it is always recommended to use broadband internet access such as WLAN or DSL connection.
  • Ensure that your Photosmart printer and computer are in an active condition. Before connecting your printer to a wireless network, disconnect the Ethernet or USB cables if connected. Ensure that your router is active and internet connection is enabled. Access the Settings menu on your printer’s control panel. Select the Wireless Settings option and then tap Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Now your printer starts searching for all nearby networks. When your printer displays the search result, choose your network name from the list and then enter the WEP/WPA2 key. Once the printer connected to the wireless network of your router, start connecting your computer to the same network. If your printer fails to detect the router’s network name, choose the option to add the network manually and then enter the security password to connect to the network.
  • Be sure to connect your computer to the same network as that of your computer. After a successful wireless network connection, open a web browser on your computer. Connect to the Software and Downloads page on the HP site. Search the print driver and software for your printer model. After locating the driver file, click the Download button or icon next to the file name. Wait until the download completes. Once the download process completes, find the driver file on your browser’s download path.
  • Open the Setup.exe file and click Continue to start installing the driver on your computer. Accept the terms and conditions of installation. When the HP installer asks you to select the Connection Type, select the Wireless Connection option. When it prompts to connect your computer and printer, pair your Photosmart printer and computer with a USB cable.
  • When prompted to add your printer, locate the Add Printer and Scanner option and add your Photosmart printer to the computer. Set your Photosmart printer as your default printer. Once the installation completes successfully, close the installation window and start working. Know More About on how to set up HP Photosmart Wireless Printer Connect With Our Tech Team.
