- Click the Finder icon on the Dock.
- Go to the Finder menu and select the Preferences option from the list.
- Navigate to the General section to view the devices connected to your Mac computer.
- If your Mac computer can’t recognize a USB device that is plugged in, check the specifications of the USB device.
- Click the About This Mac option from the Apple menu.
- Select Support and click the Specifications option.
- You can check the specifications before connecting a USB device.
- Go to the About This Mac window and select the System Report tab.
- Select the USB option in the Hardware section on the left panel.
- You can now check all the USB devices connected to your Mac computer.
- Disconnect the not recognized USB device from your Mac computer and reconnect it after a few seconds.
- Check whether you have properly connected the connection cable at both ends.
- If the issue persists, try replacing the cable and plug in the USB device again.
- Connect the USB cable directly to your Mac computer instead of connecting it to a router or hub.
