- Check whether you are using an obsolete network driver version.
- If so, update it to the latest version.
- If you are blocked by the network adapters while changing the MAC address for the wireless network connection, disable and re-enable the Wi-Fi network adapters.
- To do this, click the Start menu and navigate to Windows Control Panel.
- Go to the Network and Sharing Center tab and select the Change adapter settings option in the Status section.
- In the Network adapters window, select the active network adapter and give a right-click on it.
- Select Disable from the drop-down menu.
- After a few seconds, re-enable the Wi-Fi network adapter to fix the error.
- Next, identify the MAC address of the connected wireless device.
- To identify the MAC address, click the Start menu and type “cmd” in the search panel.
- From the search result, give a right-click on the Command Prompt app and select the Run as administrator option.
- In the Command Prompt window, type the “getmac” command and press the Enter button.
- Identify the MAC address in the Physical Address section.
- Exit the Command Prompt window and go to the Windows Control Panel.
- Click the Network and Sharing Center tab and select the Change adapter settings link available at the left-side panel.
- Give a right-click on the active network adapter and select the Properties option from the drop-down menu.

- In the Properties window, click the Networking tab and select the Client for Microsoft Networks option.
